Army of Two: The 40th Day Brings Coop to the 2009 Tokyo Game Show

The 2009 Tokyo Game Show is kicking off and Army of Two: The 40^th Day is coming on strong! There are many new previews available today based on a playable demo of the first chapter, which hasn't been shown up until now! There are also six new screenshots floating around that you can check out in our media gallery. Here's a sample of those previews:

Eurogamer: "...but now that enemies have their own agendas, and won't necessarily be expecting a fiery death, a few more sneaky/stealthy options have also been opened up. An unsuspecting enemy can be grabbed as a hostage, for example - or one of you can walk up and do a mock surrender while the other readies a volley of bullets. Another neat trick is for one player to sneak forward to get a visual on an enemy who's hiding behind a wall - meaning that he becomes a visible outline on the other's screen. If a sniper rifle is equipped and the wall is one that you can knock holes through, that's a neat headshot on its way."

GameSpot: "Army of Two: The 40th Day seems to be coming along nicely. The controls feel good, and the new co-op elements feel well thought out. We also really like stabbing mercenaries with a gun that had pink hearts on it--but that might just be us. At any rate, you can expect to see The 40th Day released on January 12."

IGN: "...sometimes you get punched to death when you're not looking -- that last one happened to the fine folks showing off Army of Two: The 40th Day and its split-screen co-op today when an enemy got a bit too close. After that, the demo duo rebounded nicely and moved through the section, but it was only after the room's collective laugh. No, we weren't laughing at them, we were laughing at the in-game recap: "You Died. You were beaten to death. Try using melee."
